Courteney Wilds, The Singer

Ms. Wilds was a dramatic powerhouse for the entire performance . . .

Courteney made her professional debut in opera with Regina Opera Company - Brooklyn, New York’s oldest opera company. Singing the role of Amelia in Un Ballo in Maschera by Giuseppi Verdi, Nino Pantano of The Italian Voice said, "Wilds also has a strong sense of declamatory utterance which opera goers have been searching for in vain since the days of Milanov, Price and Tebaldi." This debut was quickly followed by her performance as the title role from Aida with Amici Opera in Pennsylvania, Madam Lidoine from Dialogues of the Carmelites with Hudson Opera Theater in Upstate New York and then back to Regina where she performed the title role of Tosca. Additionally, she performed as a soloist in concerts across the tri-state area including the Trenton War Memorial, Merkin Hall, CAMI Hall and performed with New York City Opera in their critically acclaimed performance of Margaret Garner. World renown soprano, Martina Arroyo described Courteney "as possessing a solid, expressive voice capable of many colors and a talented actress with excellent stage presence and personal charisma."
